FAQ'S

DO DCM'S COUNT AS HOURS?

No, DCM’s do not count for service hours, unless they are service-based DCM’s.

HOW ARE HOURS ROUNDED?

Hours are rounded with a 15 minute interval.
Ex: 1:12 rounds to 1:00; 1:20 rounds to 1:30; 1:39 rounds to 1:30; 1:49 rounds to 2:00

WHAT TYPES OF HOURS ARE THERE

There are 2 main ways your hours are counted for in high school: Key Club and BUSD

Key Club: any hours done through Key Club events ONLY count for Key Club AND BUSD

BUSD: any hours done anywhere count for BUSD – but NOT for Key Club
To qualify for any Key Club awards and STOLE, hours must solely be completed through Key Club.

Using Form C, convert your hours from Key Club into the BUSD system, to make your hours count for BOTH Key Club and BUSD – meaning you will qualify for STOLE and the BUSD 100 service hour award.

WHO IS A "HEADER" OF AN EVENT?

A header is any Key Club officer, executive board member, buddy group leader, or general member who is in charge of an event. This is who you will sign in and out with for your service hours to count. The header varies with each event.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Keep track of your own hours using pen and paper or even this document. Record the header, date, name of event, and hours volunteered.

Make sure to know the headers of each event and sign IN and OUT with the same header.
